FILMMAKING
My passion for visual storytelling has inevitably led me to film. As an independent filmmaker, I produce, direct, shoot, and edit my own projects. On occasion, I also collaborate with other directors, cinematographers, screenwriters, and editors and deeply appreciate the teamwork involved in any successful film production.
HIGHLIGHT
REEL
Montmartre, Paris
Some places only become fully embodied for me in memory. When I’m there, I’m working - filming, directing, paying attention, managing the frame, the light, the movement, the day. But later, at the editing table, something opens. The place returns with its full emotional weight. And my job then is different: not to manage the moment, but to listen for the story in it. Paris is like that for me. I seem to experience it most deeply in retrospect, as if memory makes me permeable to what I couldn't quite take in at the time. As if I return to it like a ghost, and in that ghostly return can finally feel its atmosphere, its ache, its beauty. Shot with brand strategist Philip Gaskin in Montmartre, this small film of streets, people, and music carries that particular feeling of a place arriving late, but all at once.
Sites of Survival
Sites of Survival is a feature documentary that weaves together stories of individuals using their art to process trauma with autoethnographic footage documenting my own use of film, photography, and writing to explore my subjectivity as a survivor and witness.
