Shanyn Fiske Photography
Fine Art & Portraiture
I am fascinated by people - their expressions, their stories, their words. Photography has given me a way to capture the beauty of the people around me, and I am continually looking for ways to link my photography to my humanitarian work and my efforts to make us more compassionate toward one another.
I am happy to work with models, musicians, artists, performers, dancers, designers, and other creatives to produce photoshoots for publication, promotion, portfolios, or personal use.
I am available to produce editorial or commercial photoshoots for fashion designers or brands. I shoot on-location and in-studio. My images & editorials have been published in a number of magazines. Some samples of my work from previous editorials / campaigns are below.
Agency and Freelance Models
Planning the Shoot
Portfolio shoots begin with planning looks on a moodboard and discussing the desired outcomes of the shoot with the model and her agency (if applicable). Before the shoot date, we will discuss hair & makeup, outfits, and goals (e.g. magazine publication).
Portfolio shoots take place in one of my studios (Exton PA or Philadelphia PA) or on location at a designated place that will best support the outcomes we discussed during the planning process.
Selection & Editing
Clients receive a full gallery of their unedited images within 24 hours after the shoot. Clients choose images from the gallery to be edited, retouched, and delivered in hi-res digital format within 2 weeks of the shoot date.
Many models are looking to build their print portfolios, so I submit some of my shoots as editorials to magazines. My photos have been published in a number of magazines, and I am always happy to help models break into print.
Heart Horse Portraits
During the summer of 2019, I worked on a series of portraits of people with their "heart horses." As a lifelong equestrienne and owner of two horses, I believe in the power of these animals to tap into the best of humanity. My goal in this project was to capture the unique relationship that each horse has with his / her person, however that might be expressed, and give people images by which they can remember that relationship. I plan to continue the Heart Horse Portraits on a limited basis, so if you are a horse owner and would like to book a portrait session, please reach out to me. To see more images from this project, please click on the Facebook page link on the contact form.
My journey with photography began as an extension of my storytelling practice. Having trained as a writer for four decades, I believe in the power of stories to impact our relationships with one another and with the world around us. Photography has helped expand my storytelling capacity to a visual field. I welcome the opportunity to help clients craft their unique visual narratives.
